Job summary

Goodwin Procter seeks an Attorney Development Manager to drive development and engagement for associates in their cohort, aligning progress with the firm’s business goals and culture of elite performance.

Collaborate with Practice Management, Talent, and Advisors to lead onboarding, staffing decisions, and performance reviews while championing inclusion and career growth across the attorney population.

Qualifications

J.D. degree strongly preferred and solid legal principles.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a large law firm.
Experience in legal staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication acumen to influence stakeholders.
Results-oriented, inclusive leadership and coaching mindset.

Responsibilities

Attorney cohort management: oversee day-to-day development, performance and engagement.
Onboarding & integration: lead onboarding and ensure cultural fit and workflows.
Resource allocation: align attorney skills with client work and firm priorities.
Development & performance management: gather feedback and guide advancement.
Strategic & advisory support: shape hiring, onboarding, retention and growth strategies.
Training & cross-functional collaboration: deliver targeted programs and foster engagement.
Policy awareness & compliance: ensure understanding of firm policies and procedures.
