Job summary

Goodwin’s Global Operations Team in Boston seeks an Attorney Development Manager to drive development and engagement for associates. You will align progress with the firm’s elite performance standards and work closely with leaders to shape talent strategy.

You will lead onboarding, staffing, performance evaluations, and career progression initiatives, leveraging data and AI-enabled tools to enhance mentorship and workforce planning.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree strongly preferred, with solid legal principles and practices.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a large law firm.
• Experience in legal staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development is highly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication acumen with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Data-driven approach to talent decisions and performance management.
• Willingness to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day development, performance, and engagement for assigned Attorneys.
• Lead onboarding and integration to ensure seamless culture fit and working relationships.
• Coordinate staffing and matter allocations to support growth and client priorities.
• Gather feedback for performance evaluations and career progression decisions.
• Collaborate with Practice Management, Coaching, and Employee Relations to address issues and transitions.
