Job summary

Goodwin Procter LLP is seeking an Attorney Development Manager (ADM) to drive development and engagement for associates and timekeepers within an assigned cohort. You will work as a strategic advisor, aligning each Attorney’s progress with the firm’s goals and elite performance culture, in close partnership with leadership and Practice Management.

Responsibilities include onboarding, performance management, and staffing decisions to optimize growth, retention, and client impact while leveraging

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required with strong legal foundations.
• Experience in staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development is highly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Discretion and judgment in handling confidential information is essential.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.

Responsibilities

• Attorney cohort management: oversee day-to-day development, performance, and engagement.
• Lead onboarding to ensure smooth integration into firm culture and workflows.
• Coordinate resource allocation with matter teams to align skills with client work.
• Gather feedback for development plans, performance reviews, and career progression.
• Identify trends and advise on hiring, onboarding, retention, and development strategies.
• Deliver targeted training programs and individual learning plans for Attorneys.
