Job summary

Trane Technologies in Madison, WI offers a hands-on Summer Internship in Technical Sales across North America. You’ll work with Sales Account Managers and customers to learn the design, application and sale of HVAC systems, building controls and services.

Actively enrolled engineering students may apply; sophomores eligible; the internship runs 12 weeks with a clear path to our Graduate Training Program after graduation. Benefits include health insurance, tuition assistance, and time off.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering for the duration of the internship.
• Sophomore year completion required before start.
• U.S. citizen or right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Some roles may be remote, hybrid, or on-site.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for 12 months and no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Sales Account Managers and customers.
• Understand design, application and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
• Attend sales meetings; business functions; sales and service calls; customer meetings with experienced account managers and mentors.
• Understand the steps sales engineers take from start to finish on a job and be hands-on in those steps during the internship.
• Gain appreciation for the importance of the relationship with customers as you work with them as a daily point-of-contact creating a sense of ownership and importance in the solution-making process.
