Wintriss Engineering Corporation is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer / Regional Sales Manager to drive new business in the U.S. and Canada, walking production lines with engineers and managers to tailor automated surface inspection solutions.
You will partner with engineering and applications teams, develop ROI cases, and manage proposals from prospecting through order, while maintaining a robust sales pipeline and travel serverely 50–70% of the time.
Wintriss Engineering Corporation develops advanced automated surface inspection systems for industrial manufacturing. Our Web Ranger™ systems help manufacturers across plastic films, nonwovens, coated and laminated materials, composites and prepregs, metal foils and coil, paper, and other continuous web and sheet processes detect defects, cut scrap and yield losses, and optimize production.
We're hiring a Technical Sales Engineer / Regional Sales Manager to grow an assigned territory by combining technical depth, consultative selling, and proactive business development.
This is a hunting role, not a catalog-sales or pure account-management position. You'll prospect for new accounts, open doors with technical and management decision-makers, and create opportunities in target industries — while also expanding relationships with existing Wintriss customers.
Day to day, that means walking a production line with a process engineer, discussing defect-detection needs with a quality manager, reviewing automation requirements with controls engineers, and presenting the financial and operational case for a solution to plant and corporate leadership. You'll work directly with Wintriss engineering and applications teams to turn what you learn on the floor into an engineered inspection solution.
A technically capable, business-development-oriented sales professional experienced selling engineered solutions into industrial manufacturing — someone who can hunt for new business, not just manage an existing book.
Direct experience with automated surface inspection systems is a strong plus, but not required for a candidate with strong industrial technical-sales and new-business-development experience.
Experience with continuous web, sheet, or coil manufacturing processes is especially valuable, including:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Automation, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred but not required. Significant relevant industry experience — particularly in surface inspection, machine vision, industrial automation, capital equipment, or continuous-process manufacturing — may substitute for formal education.
You'll develop and manage an assigned territory in the U.S. and/or Canada, covering both established Wintriss customers and significant new-business development opportunities. You're expected to actively expand the customer base in your territory rather than relying solely on existing accounts. Specific assignment depends on your location, industry experience, and existing customer relationships.
Expect 50–70% travel for plant visits, production-line evaluations, technical and commercial meetings, proposal reviews, new-business development, and industry events. You should be comfortable working in active industrial manufacturing environments.
A competitive package designed to reward both new-business development and long-term account growth, based on your technical background, industry knowledge, sales experience, and customer relationships. Includes:
This role puts you at the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and business development, selling sophisticated engineered systems that directly affect a manufacturer's product quality, yield, productivity, and profitability. You'll act as a technical resource and trusted advisor rather than simply an equipment vendor — walking the line with a process engineer one day, discussing defect-detection requirements with a quality manager, and presenting ROI to plant or corporate management the next. If you enjoy technology, manufacturing, prospecting, problem-solving, and customer interaction, this role offers the opportunity to build a territory, develop long-term customer relationships, and have a direct impact on both Wintriss Engineering's growth and your own earning potential.
