Job description

The primary responsibility of our Technical Sales Engineer position is to represent Triosim in all phases of the product and services sales process — from prospecting and lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and closing — for both new and existing customers in heavy industrial environments within the Northeast United States region.

This is an outside sales role: the position requires significant time spent in the field, traveling to customer and prospect sites to build relationships, uncover needs, and sell face-to-face rather than by phone or email alone. The position requires a unique combination of an entrepreneurial can-do spirit, attention to detail, relationship building, and a vast product and services knowledge.

To be successful, a candidate must possess the ability to communicate well with a diverse group of prospects, customers and partners to involve and lead all stakeholders through the sales process. As a remote, field-based position, travel time is estimated at 85%.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and maintains sales accounts and services those customers within the assigned territory.
  • Prospects for and generates new business within the assigned territory through cold calling, referrals, networking, and follow-up on marketing leads.
  • Researches customers' unmet business needs and present solutions associated with Triosim's vast offerings.
  • Sells comprehensively across all Triosim offerings.
  • Visits customers/potential customers to develop relationships, follow up on leads, close sales opportunities and provide technical assistance.
  • Builds relationships with key decision makers, to promote current and future business; including engineers, planners, schedulers, maintenance & production managers, technical & engineering directors as well as mill managers.
  • Prepares and delivers accurate quotes, proposals, and pricing in coordination with internal technical and operations teams.
  • Negotiates pricing, terms, and contracts to close new and renewal business.Meets and exceeds all established sales budget (revenue, profit, expense) goals.
  • Develops strategies to maximize short-term and long-term performance for the region, including a yearly strategic planning report.
  • Forecasts sales activity and maintains an accurate, up-to-date opportunity pipeline for management review.
  • Delivers sales presentations and closes sales in an expedient and professional manner.
  • Coordinates with internal service, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer commitments are met and issues are resolved.
  • Represents Triosim at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events to build brand awareness and generate new leads.
  • Diligently communicates both internally and externally to maximize effectiveness and involve all necessary stakeholders.
  • Completes all safety training required by each customer facility in the region and promotes safety in all facets of the job, both on the customer site and while traveling on the company's behalf.
  • Submits timely and accurate expense reports and manages the travel budget for the assigned territory.
  • Follows all requirements as outlined in the Triosim employee handbook.
  • Maintains sales opportunities and customer contact listings for the assigned region using the assigned CRM platform.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mechanical Engineer degree preferred or commensurate industrial/mechanical services experience.
  • Proven outside sales experience within heavy industry or industrial products and services is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience selling within pulp and paper, tissue converting, mining, petrochemical, power generation, or food manufacturing markets or segments is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience selling products or solutions that include MRO replacement products, engineered rotating equipment, surface engineering or protective coatings, or reliability centered repairs is desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 85% for this role is required. This role will be based in the Northeast United States region.
