Job description

Technical Account Manager – Robotics & Factory Automation
Southwest / Western U.S. Territory | Texas or Arizona Preferred
$120,000–$140,000 Base Salary + $30,000 Bonus Potential
Total Compensation Potential: $150,000–$170,000
No Commission Structure | Remote, Territory-Based Position

Are you an experienced technical sales professional who understands industrial automation, thrives on developing new business, and enjoys the challenge of building a territory?

Imagine representing an established global technology company with an impressive portfolio of robotics, factory automation, and engineered solutions, and the opportunity to drive significant growth across a large, developing territory.

We are partnering with a global leader in industrial automation solutions that is investing in its sales organization and expanding into high-growth markets. We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Account Manager who can open doors, develop strategic customer relationships, penetrate new markets, and play an important role in the company's continued growth throughout the Southwest and Western United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for a true hunter who also understands the value of long-term customer relationships, with the resources of an established international organization behind them.

What Makes This Opportunity Attractive?
  • Excellent Compensation: $120K–$140K base salary plus approximately $30K in annual bonus potential, with no commission structure.
  • Territory Ownership: Take responsibility for developing and expanding a significant Southwest/Western U.S. sales territory.
  • Strong Hunter Mentality: A proactive, results-driven sales professional who thrives on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, penetrating target accounts, and converting prospects into profitable, long-term customer relationships.
  • Exciting Growth Markets: Represent robotics, industrial automation, engineered products, connectivity solutions, and related technical services.
  • Autonomy & Independence: Work remotely from your territory, develop your sales strategy, and directly influence business growth.
  • Global Resources: Leverage an established international organization's engineering expertise, technical capabilities, and product portfolio.
  • Meaningful Impact: Help manufacturers improve productivity, maximize equipment performance, and implement sophisticated robotic and automated manufacturing solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Hunt for new business: Identify prospects, open doors, penetrate target accounts, and convert opportunities into profitable, long-term customer relationships.
  • Develop and expand relationships with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, robotic equipment manufacturers, automation integrators, and industrial manufacturers.
  • Build and execute a territory growth strategy across the Southwest and Western United States.
  • Represent sophisticated industrial robotics, engineered automation products, connectivity solutions, and technical services.
  • Develop relationships with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and purchasing decision-makers.
  • Understand customer challenges and collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through proposals, negotiations, and successful execution.
  • Expand business within established accounts while maintaining a strong pipeline of new opportunities.

This is a growth-oriented territory role. Success will require someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships from the ground up, and creating business, not simply maintaining an existing book of accounts.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of successful technical B2B sales, territory management, or business development experience.
  • Strong Hunter Mentality: A proactive, results-driven sales professional who thrives on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, penetrating target accounts, and converting prospects into profitable, long-term customer relationships.
  • Experience selling into industrial manufacturing environments, ideally automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, robotic equipment manufacturers, or automation integrators.
  • A background in industrial robotics, factory automation, engineered products, robotic components, industrial connectivity, or systems integration.
  • Demonstrated success developing new territories, winning new customers, and expanding established business.
  • Ability to engage technically with engineers, manufacturing leaders, and operations professionals.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently from a home office.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
Particularly attractive backgrounds include:

Industrial robotics, robotic dresspacks, cable management systems, robotic components, industrial connectivity, automated manufacturing equipment, automation integration, engineered products, and technical sales to robotic OEMs and systems integrators.

You do not need experience with every technology listed. We are looking for professionals who understand automated manufacturing, have a proven ability to develop new business, and are excited about building a significant regional territory.

Location & Travel

This is a remote, territory-based position, with a strong preference for candidates residing in Texas or Arizona.

The territory encompasses the Southwest and portions of the Western United States, extending from Texas north toward Washington. California is excluded. The successful candidate will complete approximately 2–3 weeks of initial onboarding and training in Michigan, then work remotely from their home territory with regular customer travel.

Ready for Your Next Opportunity?

If you've built your career selling technical products and solutions into industrial manufacturing—and you're energized by the opportunity to develop new markets, win new customers, and grow a territory with the backing of an established global organization, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
