Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Specialist - Technical Sales to drive large projects and grow specialized product segments. You will lead commercial/technical decisions, deliver presentations and product demonstrations, and provide pre- and post-sales support to the sales team.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, you will develop expertise in designated product groups, build strong customer relationships, and help promote value-added solutions across the customer base.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's in Engineering or Business preferred.
• 1+ years electrical industry experience (wire & cable preferred).
• 3+ years sales experience in related industry (wire & cable preferred).
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Calls on clients and management to persuade them of the desirability of technical products or services.
• Provides technical services to clients relating to specified products.
• Makes sales contacts, researches customer needs and provides product/app information; demonstrates solutions.
• Gathers, analyzes and shares technical information and solutions to internal and external customers.
• First line of pre/post technical sales support for sales teams.
• Develops expertise in specified product groups.
• Participates in joint sales calls with customers and prospects.
• Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in product areas.
• Understands market conditions and competitive forces.
• Promotes value-add assigned products in competitive situations.
• Participates in marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from product businesses.
• Maintains excellent relationships with vendor product managers and other selling resources.
