Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Technical Engineer to support the Busbar global line of business, assisting the engineering team in executing design and documentation tasks to ensure alignment with type-tested designs and UL standards while collaborating with estimation, sales, offering, engineering, and project delivery teams.

This role requires working knowledge of Vertiv's busbar product range and a proactive approach to applying standard designs, tools, and processes across projects and manufacturing plants

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Electrical engineering degree preferred.
• Experience or exposure to low voltage switchgear or busway design preferred.
• Basic experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Familiarity with UL codes and standards preferred.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and project teams to understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions aligned with standard, type-tested product offerings.
• Support the preparation and review of technical drawing submissions prior to release.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standardized engineering documentation, including drawings and BOMs.
• Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities to support improvements in engineering and project performance.
• Prepare design drawings and documentation for Busbar packages to support project delivery teams.
• Support plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development initiatives as needed.
• Assist with technical reviews prior to production release to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide support for technical issues across projects and plants, escalating complex issues as required.
• Support evaluation of custom and first-of-a-kind projects in coordination with senior engineers and the NPDI team.
