Job summary
WSP seeks a SCADA and Automation Engineer - Technical Director to join our Boise, ID office with consideration for other West Coast locations. The role focuses on utility SCADA, automation, and protection for transmission and distribution substations, generation facilities, and control centers, including renewables.
The successful candidate will lead projects, mentor staff, and build client relationships while delivering design, testing, and commissioning expertise in a dynamic consulting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 12+ years of post-education experience in SCADA projects for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Engineering license required (or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership to mid-level/senior staff with QA/QC adherence.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects and mentor team members.
- Design, engineer, and commission utility SCADA, automation, and protection systems.
- Develop data acquisition, HMIs, and network/communication schemes.
- Prepare proposals and build client relationships; identify opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with codes and quality standards.
