Job summary

WSP is currently seeking an experienced SCADA and Automation Engineer – Lead Professional for our Boise ID office. The role involves hands-on design, engineering, and commissioning of utility-scale power projects and related ESSP initiatives across various locations.

We offer opportunities to lead project teams, develop data transfer schemes, configure networks for RTUs/IEDs/HMIs, and travel to project sites including Clarkston, Portland, San Diego, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Ft Lauderdale.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
7–10 years’ post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for power generation, transmission and distribution.
Willingness to travel for project needs and adapt to changing requirements.
Proven commitment to safety and compliance with WSP policies.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for design, engineering and commissioning of power projects.
Develop and commission substations, distribution systems, renewable facilities, and protection and control systems.
Lead project teams, resolve complex technical challenges, ensure designs meet codes and safety standards.
Develop data transfer schemes, test and commission data networks at project sites.
