Job summary

WSP USA seeks a SCADA and Automation Engineer - Technical Director to lead design, engineering, and commissioning of utility-scale SCADA projects across multiple sites in the U.S. This role requires deep expertise in transmission and distribution substations, renewable energy interfaces, and protection systems.

You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and contribute to proposals while traveling to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 12+ years of post-education experience in SCADA design for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Engineer license required (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor mid- to senior-level staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and strengthen client relationships in SCADA, automation, and protection systems.
• Coordinate design reviews and ensure data integrity and code compliance.
• Develop data transfer schemes, HMIs, and communication networks for substations and facilities.
• Travel to project sites for testing and commissioning of systems as needed.
• Possess strong communication skills for diverse audiences and proposals.
