Placements24 is seeking a diligent Technical Support Apprentice for its Upington, Northern Cape office. You will provide first-line help to users, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and gain hands-on experience with ticketing systems under experienced mentors.

This role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and a proactive attitude to learn and resolve technical challenges in a busy IT environment.

Formación

• A qualification or strong interest in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common software applications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and a patient attitude.

Responsabilidades

• Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Document technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level support technicians when necessary.
• Assist with the setup of new workstations and office equipment.
• Provide basic training to users on software and hardware usage.
• Follow standard operating procedures for technical support.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a knowledge base.
