Placements24 is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our client’s team in Welkom, South Africa. You will provide high-level technical assistance, troubleshoot software and hardware, and guide users through complex solutions across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.

The role involves remote and on-site support, documentation, and collaboration with developers to resolve issues while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support or technical helpdesk roles.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software and networks.
• Experience with Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical support to end-users via phone, email and remote desktop tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues, identifying root causes.
• Guide users through step-by-step solutions for technical problems.
• Install, configure and update software applications and operating systems.
• Maintain records of customer interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with development teams to report bugs and improve documentation.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior technical staff or engineering teams.
• Provide feedback on recurring issues and potential solutions.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with timely and effective support.
