Job summary

Micro Center in Mayfield Heights, OH is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians. You will split time between the service counter assisting customers and diagnosing repairs in the shop, with earnings starting at $15/hour and potential to rise to $18–$35+ per hour plus SPIFFs.

You’ll communicate repair status to customers and help them choose service options like data backups and warranties. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year related computer service/repair or technical customer service experience strongly preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or ability to certify within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.
• Shifts include hours before and after the store is open, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on computers, equipment, and other products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware/software problems on devices like desktops, laptops, phones, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO sales team.
• Maintain certifications and stay up-to-date on products and technologies.
• Manage a cash till, handle transactions, keep area clean and inventory tracked.
• Provide timely information to customers about their service event via in-person, phone, text, and email.
