Job summary

Pollo Tropical, part of Fiesta Restaurant Group, is seeking a Team Leader in Training (TLIT) to gain hands-on experience in restaurant operations and shift leadership. You will learn food safety, guest service, labor support, and team engagement while shadowing a leadership team.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months in a restaurant setting, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
6 months restaurant experience, team support or leadership preferred.
Strong verbal and written English communication.
Familiarity with Outlook and HRIS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise hourly team members during shifts to ensure quality and guest service.
Assist in planning shift responsibilities and learn safety and sanitation procedures.
Support team engagement through coaching and communication.
Attend daily pre-shift huddles to align goals and standards.
Model high guest service standards and resolve guest concerns promptly.
Learn compliance with regulations and assist with cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
Foster a safe, inclusive work environment and report incidents.
Assist with scheduling, inventory checks, and cash handling tasks.
Shadow leadership during onboarding and training activities.
Develop decision‑making and problem‑solving in high‑pressure situations.
Demonstrate adaptability and curiosity while learning in a team setting.
Follow company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
