Job summary

Jobtailor in Dallas, TX is seeking a warehouse operations professional to coordinate daily activities, supervise receiving, warehousing, and shipping, and mentor associates in SOPs. Responsibilities

Job description

• Coordinate and oversee assigned daily operational activities
• Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping
• Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
• Assist with forklift operation and certification
• Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, picking, and staging outbound shipments
• Verify inbound/outbound paperwork, product counts, doors, and trailers
• Load orders efficiently and accurately
• Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
• Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
• Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
• Verify product and order quality, documentation, packaging, shrink wrapping, and labeling
• Report damages, discrepancies, inconsistencies, and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
• Participate in quality, safety, and department meetings
• Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and Standard Operating Procedure requirements
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderliness, security, and equipment upkeep
• Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
• Assist with staffing levels and work schedules; ensure assignments are completed properly
• Initiate or recommend solutions for product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
• Operate and inspect forklifts and other material-handling equipment; perform minor maintenance
• Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
• Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
• Basic computer skills

• Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
