Job summary

Jobtailor in New York is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead day-to-day site operations, overseeing warehousing, receiving and shipping while ensuring safety and efficiency.

You will plan volumes, optimize space, supervise supervisors, and drive continuous improvement across KPIs and service levels. The role requires a strong leader with WMS and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 7 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping.
  • Plan inbound and outbound volumes, space utilization, and equipment management.
  • Supervise warehouse operations supervisors and support staff.
  • Hire, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, and discipline team members as needed.
  • Develop systems and procedures for safe, profitable operations.
  • Manage productivity, service goals, client SLAs, KPIs, quality requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan daily work schedules, review work orders and arrival notices, assess priorities, and assign warehouse duties.
  • Plan warehouse-space reorganizations and staffing, supply, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure effective training, trainee progress assessment, and adherence to DSV and client SOPs.
  • Train team members on required information systems, including WMS.
  • Ensure procurement of computer software and hardware complies with Corporate IT policies.
  • Manage customer service standards, client support, customer meetings, and site visits.
  • Support annual operating‑budget development and manage operational controls within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
  • Maintain sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material‑handling‑equipment programs.
  • Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance.
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
  • Conduct routine staff meetings and perform other assigned duties.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
