Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead inbound/outbound activities, slotting, and customer communications in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise staff, plan daily work, ensure safety and KPI performance, and collaborate with management to optimize labor, space, and costs.

This role requires forklift/MHE familiarity, RF scanners, and proficiency with WMS and Microsoft Office; overtime and flexible schedules may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Prior MHE certification or basic MHE operation knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions.
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying product quantities and counting inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational, personnel, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to participate in cross-training activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities.
  • Manage labor, scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower.
  • Hire, train, assign, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff.
  • Conduct staff meetings and communicate critical operational issues to senior management and clients.
  • Develop systems and procedures for safe, profitable, and policy-compliant operations.
  • Manage operations to meet productivity, service, KPI, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Implement and report cost-saving measures.
  • Support Human Resources with hiring, training, development, performance evaluations, promotions, and wage recommendations.
  • Plan daily work schedules using work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and available resources.
  • Review warehouse jobs, trends, space organization, supplies, equipment, and staffing needs.
  • Train new staff and assess trainee progress.
  • Monitor work quality and quantity, providing guidance as needed.
  • Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members.
  • Keep the Operations Manager informed of progress and problems.
  • Assist with physical operations as needed.
  • Support and train team members in corporate and client SOP adherence.
  • Maintain team motivation and customer satisfaction.
