Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Warehouse Associate to coordinate daily warehouse activities in Northlake, TX. You will supervise and mentor warehousing teams handling receiving, storage, and shipping, while ensuring SOPs and ISO/OSHA standards are followed.

The role requires forklift/MHE operation, RF scanning, WMS familiarity, and strong attention to detail. You will contribute to safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in logistics, distribution or related environment.
  • Able to operate MHE and forklifts; current certification preferred.
  • Basic computer and RF scanner proficiency; familiarity with WMS.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operations under supervision.
  • Oversee associates in warehousing, receiving, and shipping tasks.
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on SOPs and distribution activities.
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification when required.
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments and stacking/outbound picking.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork and counts; document discrepancies.
  • Load orders to doors/trailers and process shipping/receiving activities per SOP.
  • Prepare activity reports for site management and communicate with teams.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety and security; participate in safety meetings.

Job description

  • Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operational activities under the Operations Supervisor
  • Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, and picking and staging outbound shipments
  • Verify inbound and outbound paperwork and product counts
  • Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers
  • Process shipping, receiving, and picking functions according to SOPs
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare activity reports for site management
  • Verify product and order quality, report damages or discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality, department, and safety meetings
  • Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site‑specific, and SOP requirements
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderliness, and security
  • Direct warehouse work‑team operations and assist with productivity and payroll‑hour records
  • Assist with staffing levels, work schedules, job assignments, and quality procedures
  • Initiate, record, and elevate non‑conformities to the Quality Department
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, lifts, and related equipment
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills

  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Preferred: 2-4 years’ warehouse/logistics/distribution experience
  • Preferred: 2-4 years’ proven forklift experience
  • Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21-50 pounds
  • Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
  • Must maintain an active forklift certification
