Job summary

Jobtailor in Olive Branch, MS seeks a seasoned Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a busy inbound distribution team. You will report directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager and oversee 40–50 team members, driving process efficiency, accuracy, and safety across the operation.

Responsibilities include inbound activity oversight, PO reconciliation, stocking strategies, budgeting, KPI tracking, and staffing planning to meet changing demand.

Qualifications

• Expertise in supply chain, logistics, and high-volume, time-sensitive distribution.
• Demonstrated management and team-building experience.
• Experience with WMS/inventory systems, RF tech and conveyors.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to dynamic order flow fluctuations.
• HS diploma required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred; forklift/hazmat/OSHA certifications preferred.

Job description

• Report directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager
• Manage 4–5 direct reports and oversee 40–50 team members
• Oversee all inbound activity within the warehouse
• Receive, analyze, and react to daily status reports across inbound distribution center functional areas
• Review departmental and individual metrics to identify and improve performance
• Adjust, analyze, and audit processes to increase efficiency and productivity
• Ensure receiving processes are efficient and accurate
• Oversee purchase order reconciliation and analyze receiving overages and shortages
• Work with purchasing to develop procedures for unloading vendor orders and stocking shelves
• Ensure trucks/trailers are efficiently and accurately unloaded
• Ensure dock-to-stock for most lines within 72 hours
• Formulate and enforce stocking goals for warehouse areas/zones
• Ensure inventory is accurately and timely stocked to fulfill customer needs
• Lead and supervise departmental supervisors
• Adjust staffing across multifunctional platforms when timelines are at risk
• Plan staffing and workflow according to changing market conditions
• Review and maintain departmental budgets, control operating expenses, and project future expenditures
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the warehouse
• Ensure safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
• Administer and enforce 5S warehouse principles
• Communicate frequently with warehouse and executive-level management
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Expertise in supply chain, logistics, and high volume, time sensitive distribution required
• Demonstrated management and team building experience
• Experience with WMS/inventory management systems, RF technology and conveyor technology
• Experience in internet e-fulfillment is a plus
• Ability to multi-task and adjust to dynamic order flow fluctuations
• Self-starter with ability to identify production delays and proactively take action
• Experience tracking metrics, including inbound/outbound productivity KPIs
• Knowledge of automotive parts preferred
• HS diploma required
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Clean/valid driver’s license preferred
• Forklift, Hazmat and OSHA Certifications preferred, required upon hire
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 10 hours
• Ability to squat, bend, reach, and safely climb/descend stairs where applicable
• Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers
• Ability to maintain and promote workplace safety
• Ability to secure and transfer cash or other assets
