Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities.

  • Assist with forklift operation and certification.
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments and staging outbound shipments.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork and counts.
  • Load orders to doors and trailers.
  • Process shipping, receiving, and picking per SOPs.
  • Research discrepancies and report issues to supervisors.
  • Communicate with customers by phone, email, or in person.
  • Prepare activity reports for site management.
  • Verify product quality and report damages.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and orderly work areas.

Job description

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities for assigned areas
  • Oversee associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking product, and picking and staging outbound shipments
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork and product counts
  • Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers
  • Process shipping, receiving, and picking functions according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare activity reports for site management
  • Verify product and order quality, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality, department, and safety meetings
  • Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness, security, and orderly work areas
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
  • Assist with workforce levels and work schedules; ensure jobs are assigned and completed properly
  • Initiate and report actions concerning product, process, and quality-system non-conformities
  • Operate and maintain equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program

  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities, count inventory, or perform duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products

  • Must be able to adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
  • Preferred: Current or prior MHE certification
