Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring for a Warehouse Supervisor position in Ohio. You will coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and shipping activities.

Job description

• Coordinate and supervise daily operational activities in warehousing, receiving, and shipping under the Operations Supervisor
• Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
• Assist with forklift operation and certification
• Supervise unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, picking, staging, and loading outbound shipments
• Verify inbound and outbound paperwork, product counts, doors, and trailers
• Process shipping, receiving, and picking functions according to Standard Operating Procedures
• Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
• Communicate with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
• Prepare activity reports for site management
• Verify product and order quality, report damages or discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
• Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager and participate in quality meetings
• Execute safety protocols, maintain warehouse cleanliness, and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and safety standards
• Direct warehouse work-team operations, assist with productivity and payroll records, participate in work scheduling, and ensure jobs are assigned and completed properly
• Participate in department and safety meetings and address product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
• Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
• Perform clerical and administrative duties, including answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
• Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
• Able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
• Basic computer skills
• RF scanner skills
• WMS functions
• English reading, writing, and verbal skills
• Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed and work overtime as dictated by business
• Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
• Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
• Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
