Job summary

Job description

• Supervise labor management and daily inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
• Schedule labor and manage space utilization, equipment, and manpower
• Hire, train, assign, supervise, evaluate, counsel, and discipline team members as needed
• Supervise receiving, warehousing, and shipping in line with company service and cost objectives
• Conduct staff meetings and review daily/weekly work activities
• Inform senior management and client representatives about critical operational issues
• Develop systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations
• Manage operations to meet productivity, service, quality, and client KPI goals
• Implement and report cost-saving measures
• Plan daily work schedules using work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions
• Assign warehouse duties based on priorities and available resources
• Plan warehouse-space reorganizations and changes to supply, equipment, and staffing levels
• Train new staff and assess trainee progress
• Monitor job quantity and quality, providing guidance as needed
• Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members serving as leads
• Keep the Manager informed of progress and problems
• Assist in physical warehouse operations as needed
• Support and train team members on corporate and client SOPs
• Provide growth and development opportunities and conduct annual performance reviews

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with RF scanners
• Knowledge of WMS functions
• English reading, writing, and verbal skills
• Business communication skills
• Basic to intermediate mathematical ability for verifying product quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
• Ability to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business needs
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
• Ability to bend, walk, stand, sit, lift/carry and push/pull 11–20 pounds, and reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel
• Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation
