Job summary

Job description

• Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
• Manage labor, scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
• Hire, train, assign, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff
• Conduct staff meetings and plan continuous improvement activities
• Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
• Develop and implement safe, profitable operational systems and procedures
• Manage operations to meet productivity, service, quality, KPI, and cost objectives
• Implement and report cost-saving measures
• Apply communication and motivational techniques to supervise, counsel, and discipline team members
• Support Human Resources activities, including hiring, training, professional development, promotions, and wage increases
• Plan daily work based on work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and available resources
• Assign duties and supervisory responsibilities to warehouse staff and team leads
• Review pending jobs and trends and plan warehouse space, supply, equipment, and staffing changes
• Train new staff, assess trainee progress, and delegate training as appropriate
• Monitor job quantity and quality and provide guidance
• Keep the Operations Manager informed of progress and problems
• Assist with physical operations as needed
• Provide team growth and development opportunities
• Conduct or provide input for annual performance reviews
• Support and train team members on corporate and client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Meet company objectives for performance, safety, and quality and comply with corporate and site-specific policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with RF scanners
• Knowledge of WMS functions
• English reading, writing, and verbal skills
• Business communication skills
• Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling, storing, and distributing products
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and personnel skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
• Ability to work overtime as required by the business
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures

• Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation
