Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Managing Director, Tax Operations to lead major operational programs across Tax, aligning strategy with governance and delivery. You will partner with Tax leadership to translate priorities into scalable operating models and measurable outcomes, driving transformation and efficiency.

The role focuses on governance, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to advance long-term growth within the Tax practice, with leadership of Directors and Senior Associates as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent experience in operations
• Fifteen (15)+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, professional services, or similarly complex environments
• Experience leading large cross-functional programs from strategy through implementation (governance, stakeholder alignment, change execution)
• Experience advising senior leaders and influencing decisions in an executive-facing environment
• CPA and PMP, preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads execution of Tax transformation initiatives and other high-priority operational programs
• Translates strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear ownership and measurable outcomes
• Drives accountability and follow-through across cross-functional efforts
• Leads implementation and continuous improvement of the Tax operating model
• Establishes governance routines, performance tracking, and execution standards to improve visibility
• Partners with Finance and Tax leadership to monitor budgets and performance trends
• Coaches and develops operations leaders and teams as assigned
