Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Managing Director, Tax Operations to lead strategic execution of major programs across Tax, aligning strategy, governance, and delivery. This role partners with Tax leadership to translate priorities into scalable operating models and measurable outcomes.

The candidate will drive governance, performance visibility, and cross-functional coordination to advance transformation, efficiency, and long-term growth within the Tax practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; or higher-level education with extensive operations experience.
• 15+ years in operations roles within professional services or public accounting is preferred.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional programs from strategy through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic execution and governance of Tax transformation initiatives.
• Direct operating model design for scalable, efficient tax delivery.
• Establish governance rhythms, performance metrics, and issue resolution.
• Oversee budgets, metrics, and profitability opportunities in Tax operations.
• Advise Tax leadership and build cross-functional alignment.
• Supervise Directors, Managers, and senior staff as assigned.
