Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Managing Director, Tax Operations to lead major operational programs and enterprise initiatives in Tax, aligning strategy, governance, and delivery. The role partners with Tax leadership to translate priorities into scalable operating models and cross-functional execution plans.

You will drive governance, performance visibility, and efficiency improvements, coordinating with firmwide functions to advance transformation and long-term growth across the Tax practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent experience in operations.
• Fifteen (15) or more years of progressive experience in public accounting, professional services, or a similarly complex environment.
• Experience leading large, cross‑functional programs from strategy through implementation, with governance and change execution.
• Experience advising senior leaders and influencing decisions in a collaborative, executive-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads execution of Tax transformation initiatives and high-priority operational programs.
• Translates strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
• Drives governance routines, performance tracking, and execution standards to improve visibility and discipline.
• Partners with Finance, Tax leadership, and other functions to monitor budgets and performance metrics.
• Acts as a strategic advisor to Tax leadership and coaches operations leaders to drive transformation.
