True North Consultants, Inc. is partnering with a growing organization to identify a hands-on Tax Manager focused on ASC 740 income tax provision and coordinating outsourced tax functions.

This role sits at the center of tax operations—owning the provision while liaising with external advisors (RSM) and internal stakeholders to drive timely, accurate tax reporting and practical planning across federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

• Experience with ASC 740 tax provision.
• Experience with federal and state tax compliance (C-Corp).
• Familiarity with outsourced tax environments (Big 4 / regional firms).
• Working knowledge of Avalara or similar sales tax systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual ASC 740 tax provision including current & deferred calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Perform provision-to-return true-ups and variance analysis; prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations.
• Serve as primary liaison with external tax advisors; review federal/state returns and workpapers; manage timelines and deliverables.
• Oversee outsourced sales/use tax compliance processes; review filings and reconciliations; address tax exposure issues.
• Manage multi-jurisdictional tax compliance across federal, state, and local levels; review financial statements for tax reporting accuracy; identify planning opportunities.
