Job summary

Depot Connect International in Bakersfield, CA seeks a DOT inspection certified mechanic with 2-5+ years of experience for a full-time role at our location. The position involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on tank trailers, with emphasis on DOT HM183 compliance.

Responsibilities include tank service and repair, trailer suspension installation and repair, and work with air brake systems; welding is optional.

We are currently searching for DOT inspection certified mechanic with 2-5+ years of experience. This is for our Bakersfield, CA location!

Shift Hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Range:

$27.00 to $41.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
