Job summary

Depot Connect International in Joliet, IL seeks a DOT-certified mechanic with 3–5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience. Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Pay ranges from $22.00 to $39.00 per hour, with skill-based reviews and regular increases. Candidates must diagnose repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other systems, perform tank service and trailer suspension work, and ensure DOT/HM183 compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5+ years in tank and trailer repair.
• Demonstrated skill diagnosing failures and making repairs.
• Experience with air brake systems and DOT standards HM183, hazmat.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, or related systems on a tank trailer.
• Perform tank service and repair tasks to DOT specifications.
• Install and repair trailer suspension components.
• Work with air brake systems and related components.
• TIG/MIG welding of aluminum, stainless or carbon steel (preferred).
• Inspect tanks and trailers for DOT compliance and safety.

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Joliet, IL location!

Shift Hours:Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
