Job summary

Depot Connect International in Decatur, IL is seeking DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience to join our team at the Decatur location. You will diagnose failures, perform tank service and repair, install trailer suspensions, and service air brake systems while upholding DOT HM183 standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical/electrical systems on tank trailers
• Perform tank service and repair
• Install and repair trailer suspensions
• Inspect and service air brake systems
• Weld using TIG/MIG (aluminum, stainless or carbon)
• Ensure DOT HM183/hazmat inspections compliance

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Decatur, IL location!

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: Dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
