Job summary

Depot Connect International is hiring a DOT inspector mechanic in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of tank trailer repair experience and a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems on trailers. This role offers skill-based pay and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Responsibilities include diagnosing failures, performing tank service and repair, and ensuring compliance with DOT HM183 hazmat standards. The position provides benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tank trailer repair experience.
• Experience diagnosing failures and repairing mechanical/electrical systems on trailers.
• Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to DOT HM183/hazmat standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and perform repairs on tank trailers.
• Conduct tank service and repair including Betts valves and gaskets.
• Install/repair trailer suspension and brake systems.
• Ensure DOT compliance and safety standards during inspections.

We are currently searching for DOT inspector mechanics with 3+ years of tank trailer repair experience!

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay Range: $22.00 to $36.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair, Betts valves, gaskets
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• Ability to use handheld diagnostic tools, tablets, basic tech skills
• MIG & TIG aluminum and stainless steel
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a 16" tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
