Job summary

Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Talent Specialist, People Support to own the full-cycle recruitment and lifecycle experience. You will partner with hiring managers to design roles, source candidates, and manage onboarding, stay, exit interviews, and benchmarking to keep pay competitive.

You will act as a trusted consultant, delivering proactive updates and high-touch service across candidates and employees in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience; nonprofit or mission-driven preferred.
• Experience onboarding, training, or employee-engagement programs is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, active-listening, and communication skills.
• Customer-service mindset with hiring managers, candidates, and employees.
• Consultative partner who guides hiring managers, not only executes requests.
• Independent and able to prioritize multiple open roles and touchpoints.
• Proficient with ATS/HRIS and standard office software; comfortable benchmarking salaries.
• Exposure to compensation benchmarking, market pricing, or pay equity analysis is a plus.
• PHR/SHRM-CP or similar certification a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consultative partner to hiring managers on role scope, timelines, and interview design.
• Scope open roles, write/update job descriptions, and set hiring timelines.
• Source, screen, and coordinate interviews for all open positions.
• Own requisitions and candidate pipeline in the ATS.
• Extend offers and coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements.
• Track and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, cost-per-hire).
• Build pipelines with colleges, community and faith-based networks aligned to mission.
• Act as primary contact for hiring managers, providing proactive status updates.
• Deliver high-touch, responsive onboarding and offboarding experiences.
• Solicit feedback post milestones and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and candidate information.
