Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer II - Signal and Sensor Modeling to join a close-knit team in Tucson, AZ. You will develop physics-based modeling solutions for EO/IR/RF domains, advance energy transport concepts, and help design and test AI-enabled hardware and software.

You will write new C++ models, apply advanced phenomenology, collaborate across teams, and mentor peers while delivering robust modeling solutions for DoD Space programs. Onsite role in Tucson.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows DOS command line.
• Experience in electro-optics or radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in a software implementation.
• Enable customer success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
• Work across programming languages and build environments within an established software product.
• Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
• Mentor EO/RF expertise within the team.
