Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer II for Signal and Sensor Modeling in Tucson, AZ. You will join a close-knit team to build physics-based modeling solutions in the DoD Space, developing technologies in the EO/IR/RF domain and supporting AI/hardware integration.

You will deploy advanced modeling, write C++ models, and collaborate across engineering disciplines. On-site role with a clear path to contribute to customer success and future technology adoption.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows DOS command line.
• Experience in electro-optics or in radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in a software implementation.
• Enable our customer’s success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
• Work efficiently inside an established software product, across programming languages, and build environments.
• Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
• Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.
