Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will build physics-based models in the EO/IR/RF domain and drive energy-transport simulations to support DoD Space programs and AI-enabled hardware development.

You will create C++ models, collaborate across engineering teams, and mentor peers while enabling customers to adopt modeling solutions and understand complex data.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with OO software design in C++/C and MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, macOS or Windows command line.
• Experience in EO/RF/Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics or related areas.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and physics principles in software.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Work across languages and build environments within a software product.
• Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling approaches.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to solve complex software and physics problems.
• Mentor and share EO/RF expertise with the team.
