Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an experienced Systems Engineer II for Military Flight Management software, onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will contribute to avionics software for E-2D and other fixed-wing platforms, collaborating with a global team to deliver high-quality products meeting safety and airworthiness standards.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Experience in a systems/software engineering role.
• Experience developing, decomposing, and deriving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, capture, analyze, decompose, and trace system requirements for addition of new/altered functionality for fixed wing platforms.
• Create test cases and procedures to verify software implementation.
• Design requirements, software, and test verification as needed.
• Develop innovative design approaches meeting customer requirements, cost targets, and product line objectives.
• Collaborate with agile team members on overall design process.
• Support teams of software and systems engineers to develop, integrate and release FMS software products.
• Communicate plans and status on assigned stories to agile team members.
• Coordinate with platform engineering and other software domain teams to track dependencies for shared features.
• Interact with cross-functional team including Engineers, Engineering leaders, Program Managers, Finance, Quality, and Production.
• Champion knowledge sharing and mentoring.
