Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to high‑quality avionics software and systems. You will capture and trace requirements, design and verify software, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver displays software products for flight‑critical systems.

The role requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree, plus Python scripting ability. Travel is limited, and relocation is eligible for this position.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience in a systems/software engineering role.
• Experience developing, decomposing, and deriving requirements, plus Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, decompose, and trace system requirements.
• Develop design approaches that meet customer requirements, cost targets, and product-line objectives.
• Design requirements, software, and test verification as needed by the program.
• Support teams of software and systems engineers to develop, integrate and release displays software products.
• Interact with a cross-functional team of engineers, leaders, program managers, finance, quality, and production.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<10%).
