Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an early career Systems Engineer to join the Graphical Flight Plan Server team in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work on fixed and rotary wing platforms, developing designs and requirements for military avionics flight management products.

You will create test cases, collaborate with an agile team, and coordinate with other engineering groups to deliver requested functionality for global military customers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience in design, requirements development, and verification of deliverable software, ideally within a production or consumer-facing environment.
• Experience with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and requirements for fixed and rotary wing platforms as part of the Graphical Flight Plan Server team.
• Create test cases and procedures to verify software implementation.
• Collaborate with agile team members on overall design process for projects.
• Communicate plans and status on assigned stories to the agile team.
• Coordinate with program-focused engineering teams to develop functionality for military customers.
• Champion knowledge sharing and mentoring within the department.
