Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking Software Engineer II for Military Avionics Flight Management. You will design, develop, and test flight management software for military helicopters and planes within an AGILE team environment.

You will enhance expertise in software engineering and flight management systems, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers to deliver quality, timely products. Willingness to travel <10% is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
• 2+ years of experience in a Software role.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes
• Improve knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.
