RTX Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking an early career Systems Engineer to join the Graphical Flight Plan Server team within the Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department. You will develop designs and requirements for fixed and rotary wing platforms and collaborate with an agile team.

You will learn the full software development life cycle, create test cases, and help deliver mission-critical avionics software for military customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design, requirements development, and verification of deliverable software.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Familiarity with avionics displays and FMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and requirements for fixed and rotary wing platforms as part of the FPS team.
• Create test cases and procedures to verify software implementation.
• Collaborate with agile team members on overall design processes.
• Communicate plans and status on assigned stories to the team.
• Coordinate with program-focused engineering teams to meet customer needs.
• Mentor and share knowledge to elevate department expertise.
