Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Military Avionics Flight Management team. You will design, develop, and test flight management software for military helicopters and aircraft, collaborating with cross-functional engineers in an AGILE environment.

The role requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, 4+ years in related areas, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally (<10%).

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• 4+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
• 4+ years of experience in a Systems role.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
• Master your knowledge of Systems Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.
