Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve issues reported through the JIRA ticketing system.
• Debug server platforms, CPUs, GPUs, firmware, BIOS, BMC, operating systems, and hardware/software components.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve complex system issues.
• Physically install, replace, and maintain server hardware, GPUs, and related data center components.
• Monitor lab and data center infrastructure for power outages, network failures, liquid cooling leaks, and other operational issues.
• Execute automated scripts in Linux, analyze system logs, and provide clear status updates.
• Maintain detailed ticket documentation, including troubleshooting steps, findings, root causes, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and external partners to resolve technical issues.
• Follow leadership direction and prioritize critical issues based on business needs.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in debugging processes, lab operations, and system reliability.

The Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) is seeking a hands-on Systems Design Engineer to support complex server platforms and data center infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing root cause analysis, resolving JIRA tickets, and maintaining the reliability of systems containing CPUs and GPUs.

The ideal candidate will have strong data center experience, Linux skills, and hands-on expertise in hardware installation, firmware debugging, BIOS/BMC troubleshooting, and GPU-related issues. This position combines engineering and technician responsibilities, requiring the ability to respond quickly to critical lab and data center issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience using JIRA or similar ticketing systems.
• Ability to perform hardware installation, replacement, and component-level troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
