Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 to join the team in Santa Clara, CA. You will work hands-on with CPU/GPU data center platforms, debugging hardware and software issues in the lab and data center.

Responsibilities include triaging via JIRA, performing root-cause analysis, and communicating clear updates to leadership. This onsite role offers exposure to mission-critical infrastructure and collaboration with vendors and ODMs.

Qualifications

• Experience debugging complex systems and performing root-cause analysis.
• Strong ability to translate details into clear JIRA tickets and investigations.
• Proven track record in data center environments handling CPU/GPU systems.
• Familiarity with JIRA, scripting, and debug methodologies (BMC, BIOS, GPU troubleshooting).
• Linux proficiency to run automated scripts and review logs.

Responsibilities

• Work issues through a JIRA ticketing system with priority handling.
• Debug software and hardware issues in lab and data center environments.
• Monitor lab/data center for outages and hardware failures.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot hardware; support FW and OS debugging, especially GPU issues.

Our client, Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 to join their team. As a Systems Engineer 2, you will be part of the Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) supporting lab and data center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong debugging and root-cause skills, clear communication through ticketing systems, and the ability to monitor and troubleshoot complex CPU/GPU data center platforms while working hands‑on with hardware and software.

Job Title: Systems Engineer 2 Location: Santa Clara, CA (5 days onsite every week) Pay Range: $70 Visa sponsorship not available

What's the Job?

• Work issues through a JIRA ticketing system, ensuring priority items receive timely attention.
• Debug complex platform problems in the lab and data center, including both software and hardware root-cause analysis.
• Monitor data center and lab environments for issues such as power outages, network outages, and liquid cooling leaks.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot hardware as needed; support firmware (FW) and operating system (OS) debugging, especially for GPU-related issues.
• Communicate clearly in tickets to explain the current state of an issue or system, and coordinate with leaders on priority needs.

• Self‑driven expertise in debugging problems and performing root‑cause analysis in complex systems.
• Ability to quickly understand and apply specific details to JIRA tickets and ongoing investigations.
• Proven track record working in a data center environment on complex CPU and GPU systems.
• Knowledge of JIRA, scripting, and debug methodologies (including BMC, BIOS, and GPU‑related troubleshooting).
• Linux skills to run automated scripts, review logs, and provide accurate updates; experience communicating and collaborating with OEM partners and vendors.
