Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a System Protection Engineer I–IV or Principal Engineer to perform complex power-system protection work in Texas locations including Princeton. The role requires relay settings, studies using ASPEN Oneliner, and adherence to NERC/CIP standards, with collaboration across offices and field teams.

The candidate should have an ABET‑accredited engineering degree, PE license for principal level, and strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (ABET)
• Professional Engineer license preferred/required for principal level
• Experience in power systems engineering concepts and reliability analyses
• Ability to read and apply IEEE/ANSI/NEC/NESC etc. standards

Responsibilities

• Perform short circuit, overcurrent and distance coordination studies using ASPEN Oneliner.
• Develop protective relay settings for projects and modify existing settings to maintain reliability.
• Analyze disturbances and propose mitigation per NERC CIP/PRC standards.
• Provide technical direction to field personnel and contractors as needed.
• Review relaying schematics, wiring diagrams and deliverables.
