Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Pilot Point, TX, is seeking a System Protection Engineer I–IV or Principal Engineer to perform complex engineering work ensuring safe, reliable electric system operations. Responsibilities include studies, relay settings, NERC/CIP compliance, and technical leadership.

Candidates need ABET-accredited engineering degrees; FE/PE preferred; exposure to up to 345 kV; strong communication and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• FE certificate or master's degree in engineering preferred for higher levels.
• Ability to work with high voltage up to 345kV.

Responsibilities

• Perform short circuit, overcurrent and distance coordination studies using ASPEN Oneliner.
• Develop protective relay settings for new projects or modifications.
• Analyze system disturbances and propose mitigation per NERC PRC-004.
• Provide technical direction to field personnel and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and company standards.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
