Job summary
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks an experienced System Protection Engineer I-IV or Principal to perform complex protection engineering tasks for transmission and distribution systems. The role involves coordinating short circuit analysis, setting protective relays, and ensuring compliance with NERC CIP standards.
The successful candidate will analyze disturbances, provide technical guidance to field personnel, and contribute to safer, more reliable electric infrastructure in a dynamic team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering from ABET-accredited program
- Experience with protection systems and NERC CIP compliance
- Ability to analyze disturbances and develop mitigation plans
- Familiarity with short circuit, overcurrent, and distance coordination studies
Responsibilities
- Perform short circuit, overcurrent and distance coordination studies using ASPEN Oneliner
- Develop protective relay settings for new or modified projects
- Analyze system disturbances and propose mitigation plans per NERC CIP standards
- Provide technical direction to field personnel and contractors
- Ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements
