Job summary

Onyx Point, LLC. is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator in Hanover, MD to analyze and resolve complex server, application, and software integration challenges.

The role requires active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph clearance and US citizenship. The candidate will configure Linux and Windows environments using Ansible and Puppet, manage Omnissa Horizon VDI, and provide day-to-day IT operations support across clients, servers, and networks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience as a SA in programs/contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Linux Administration - Analyze and resolve complex problems with servers, apps, and software integration.
• Configure and manage Linux OS alongside Windows 10/11 and Windows Server with Ansible and Puppet.
• Install/load OS software, troubleshoot, maintain integration, and improve reliability/performance.
• Provide IT systems support for day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for clients/servers/network devices.
• Support patching systems and hardware problems, involved in resolution process.
• End-User Support: Help desk support across all levels (in-person and via phone).
• VDI & App Virtualization: Manage Omnissa Horizon environments to deliver high-performance VDI and app virtualization.

Role

• Linux Administration - Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
• Configure and manage Linux operating systems alongside Windows 10/11 and Windows Server with automated tools such as Ansible and Puppet
• Install/load operating systems software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the clients/servers/network devices.
• Provide support for the patching systems and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
• End-User Support: Help desk support across all levels (both in-person and via phone)
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) & App Virtualization: Manage Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon) environments to deliver high-performance VDI and application virtualization to end users.

Nice To Have

• Experience with monitoring dashboards using SCANBOY or LatteArt
• Familiarity with enclave support
• Infrastructure: NetApp storage management and Network administration desired

Required Experience

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required Compensation: We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise.
