Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to configure, manage and troubleshoot RedHat Linux environments with VMware, Splunk and Ansible. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph and U.S. citizenship. Extensive SE experience and leadership in complex programs are expected.

The compensation ranges from $78,000 to $250,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package and flexible remote work options. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with full-scope poly clearance required (U.S. citizenship required).
• Shall have twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Demonstrated capability planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and troubleshoot Linux operating systems; install/load OS software and optimize reliability and performance.
• Provide support for IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes; support dispatch system and hardware problems.
• Implement system capacity analysis, planning and optimization of resource utilization.

Job description

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI W/ FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE (U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)

Configure, manage and troubleshoot Linux operating systems. Installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot and maintain integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

• Extensive experience with VMWare
• Demonstrated experience with modern automation/configuration tools such as Splunk or Ansible
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required
• Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

Required Experience

Shall have a minimum of Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.

Desired Experience

Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related professional engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Compensation: We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise.
